 Librarary Opens Thursday 17th December  Just in time for Christmas!
The best Chrissie present the community of Birkenhead could receive – the new civic centre and library opens its doors to the community this Thursday 17 December.
A fantastic vista of the Auckland harbour sea views can be enjoyed by all while you leisurely select your holiday reading.
The envy of all other areas of the Shore – come and experience “our library”.
Temporary library and council services will shut down prior to allow us to set up in the new building,
so here are some key dates you need to be aware of:
Thursday 10 December, 5pm
Temporary council area office (at Rawene Centre, Rawene Road) closes permanently
Friday 11 December, 5.30pm
Temporary library (at Birkenhead Leisure Centre, Mahara Ave) closes permanently
Thursday 17 December, 10am
New Birkenhead Library and Civic Centre opens for business
A formal public opening ceremony will be held in February 2010, when landscaping of the area
is complete.
We look forward to serving you at our new modern facility.
