Sword Fighting, Axe Throwing and Archery
The NZ Stage & Screen Combat School was the first company to teach axe throwing in New Zealand, our team of specially trained instructors will show you how to throw an axe like a Viking! This is all about fun and learning an ancient skill of launching your axe at the enemies head!
Axe Throwing

Archery
Meet Robin Hood on the Village Green Demonstrations on the hour (11-2) at the Nell Fisher Village Green provided by industry professionals from the NZ Stage & Screen Combat School.
11am-3pm Have a Go at Archery with Maid Marion at the Medieval HQ at NZ Stage & Screen Combat School, 74 Mokoia Road.
11am-3pm Meet Joan of Arc Sword Fighting at The Lookout, Kaimataara Platform next to The Junction (raincheck location at 74 Mokoia at NZSSCS) provided by industry professionals from the NZ Stage & Screen Combat School.
Joan of Arc will have a 20 minute showcase on each hour at the Lookout.
Knights Buhurt
3-4pm - See knights clash for the hand of the fair maiden in the finale Knights performance of the day before we move into the merriment and frivolities of our evening programme strolling minstrels & maidens! Provided by industry professionals from the NZ Stage & Screen Combat School
The word Buhurt comes from Old French béhourd meaning "wallop" and the sport is a full contact fighting sport with steel blunt weapons characteristic for the Middle Ages. Fighters are covered in full protective armour, made from steel.
Strolling Knights, Maidens and Minstrels
Enjoy the showcases and discover time travellers spread through the Village Streets as you enjoy a drink and a meal and saviour Village Merriment with fairy light lit streets & strolling minstrels and maidens.
